This project is the initiative of Himachal Pradesh Govt.Urban development minister and Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma said that Rs 250 crores project is likely to be completed in a year and would provide employment to local youth. He said that SkyWay urban transport solutions would simultaneously become a modern fast and time saving transport artery both for locals and visitors, which will decongest the city and reduce its pollution.

At present, the number of vehicles is increasing day by day and there is no scope of widening the roads. In order to implement this ambitious project, a company from Belarus has come forward to find the possibilities.

After seeing the traffic congestion problem, Dharamshala Municipal Corporation has come out with this idea to have a skybus project.

According to the sources, the innovative suspended wheeled vehicles would operate above the ground on the innovative rail and string elevated structure. They said that location of track structure above the ground enhances the safety of movement by about 100 times while anti-derailment system increases traffic safety by another 10 times.

Sudhir Sharma said that the skyway project is the most cost-effective and eco friendly from other all know advanced transport systems.

To find the possibilities, the company will conduct a survey of Dharamshala and McLeodganj after that a report would be prepared after which cost of the project would be worked out.

Sudhir Sharma said that we are expecting that report would be prepared by February after which work would be started on the first skyway project of Himachal Pradesh.
