Fagu is a beautiful town and very scenic place in Shimla district, aside mountain along Hindustan Tibet Road at an height of 2450m. Fagu is surrounded by greenery and presents amazing views.

The snowclad peaks of the Greater Himalaya present some rare range of picturesque views. In the open patches, the valleys hold tiny hamlets, orchards and neatly terraced field. Most of the area is covered with Deodar and spruce.

The city is bounded by the Western Himalaya in the north and Shivalik in the east. Fagu is a must visit place for nature lovers and those fond of scenic beauty. The place is a good to serve as a camp for trekkers.

The climate of Fagu is pleasant in October-November, making it an ideal place to laze around. The small cliffs around are perfect location for photography. Hatu peak, which is one of the highest point in Fagu and provides a splendid view of the surrounding region and some of the high peaks of the Himalayas.

Weather and Climate

Summer is pleasant. The temperature ranges from 8°C; to 30°C. Gentle Breeze in the evening makes it better and soothing.

Winters are bit colder with temperature below 10°C. Warm Woolen clothes are preferred during winter.

Fagu is conveniently located for sightseeing from Kufri, Narkanda, Mashobra, Naldehra and Shimla. More places to visit in Fagu are:

Katir: Katir is a small picnic spot and a camping sight in Fagu. It is just 13 kms away from here.

Banthia Devta Temple: Banthia Devta Temple is one of the famous temples in the area. There are beautiful wooden carvings in the temple.

The closest airport is at Jubbar-Hatti, 45 km away. The nearest railway station is Shimla, 22 km away. By road Chandigarh is 139 km and Delhi is at a distance of 392 km.
